In April this year 2024, Decorum Bangkok held a Trunk Show by Ascot Chang. My intention for this year was to focus more on the Bespoke and MTM piece rather than the RTW items.
Therefore I decided to commission a dress shirt with Ascot Chang with some preferences in mind as follow:
A Dress/Formal Shirt
Vintage cloth in Ascot Chang archives
Spread Collar with a wider and pointer shape
Snugged barrel cuff which I prefer my right cuff a bit wider for my wrist watch
Initial embroidery
After measurement and cloth/details selection about 1.5 month, I got the 1st fitting in June with a completely finished shirt. Even though the program that I commissioned was called MTM Program but the way the AC staff measured my body is very much a Bespoke processand from the 1st fitting I can definitely say that this is a Bespoke Shirt (also a staff at Decorum supported my idea).
From my 1st fitting, there were some adjustments on my shoulder and on my back to make the shirt a cleaner look (to eliminate the excess fabric). The rest of the shirt i.e. the length of the sleeve, the fit around my neck, cuff, chest were perfect!!
Then the final shirt arrived in the beginning of September (after about 4 months). My experience with this shirt was so impressive as you guys can guess from the title. I would like to summarized as below:
Collar: the shape is perfect as I expected and the most important thing is that it’s very soft but it beautifully roll and maintain its shape all day long for both buttoned with tie all day long and an open collar look.
Cuff: as my preference that I like a snugged fit and I wanted my right cuff a bit wider to make room for my wrist watch, it turned out perfectly without any crease or discomfort which I experience from other tailor.
Fitting: my really love the silhouette of this shirt which hardly to explain why. What I can say is that it make me look slim and very elegant. And it’s very comfortable for both when I stay still and moving especially when I raise my arms the shirt still stay tucked in nicely.
Fabric: I chose a pale blue with a white micro stripe which has a subtle detail on the white strip like a stitching or some kind of weaving technique when you look closely it’s really elevate the look of the shirt
Details: Every detail of this shirt is very delicate and when to see and touch it reflects a high craftsmanship i.e. buttons, button holes, all stitching, side seams and even the initial embroidery is very crisp.
All in all I am so impressed with this shirt and if I have a chance, I wouldn’t think twice to commission more.
In someday, we might want to wear a very nice shirt for rewarding ourself for what we have achieved or make us feel more confident for a special day.Ascot Chang shirt is that kind of shirt for that kind of days.

First of all, I have selected ONLY Thai YouTube Channels for this Blog post because I intend to curate this based on my own experience when I started getting into “The World of Classic Menswear” (about 3 years ago started in 2019).
I feel really lucky. Even though, back then, there were not so many Thai YouTubers sharing this knowledge BUT I can surely say that they are all talented and genuinely willing to share their expertise and experiences to make Thai classic menswear community growing bigger and healthier.
I also put them into a chronological manner (starts with the one that I discovered first and so on…) and I indicate each of them with the following topics:
Focus on
Playlists in hi-light
My opinion & recommendations
Lastly, I hope this would help filling the gap for the newbies who just started to look at the classic menswear and trying to find more information and trying to get some inspirations or just anyone who interested in the same topic.

Khun Tanin AKA Khun Nin doesn’t need an introduction in the classic menswear community. I think it’s not wrong to say that he is the very very first who introduced the words “Sartorial” and “Classic Menswear” into Thai Social Media. His channel is the first one that came up when I started searching on YouTube.
Focus on:
You can learn the basic understandings & techniques of what essential in classic menswear thru his product reviews together with his try-on or mix-n-match to see the different looks for your reference. Also you can learn where he purchased, his favorite tailors and his lifestyle as well.
I think with his chill-but-yet-stylish character and together with aneasy-to-understand way that he presented and beautiful production, I couldn’t recommend this channel enough for everyone.

Another gentleman who I believe that has involved in Thai fashion and social media for many many years. Khun Job is also an instructor for Personality Improvement courses at both educational institutions and private companies. If I’m not wrong, he’s also trainer for Fashion Model Catwalk. I found his channel firstly on the luxury brand name products such as bags, shoes, jewelries, watches, etc. Recently, he devoted himself by changing his whole wardrobe to the Classic Menswear style. He’s a truly “Trend Leader”.
Focus on:
You can learn the latest updates of Classic Menswear products, tailors, etc. from this channel. With his ‘Long Take’ productions, you can feel like listening to your good friend telling you good stories. Khun Job is using his styling expertise in his review as a plus and his selections have a wide price range and many product variations.
Playlists in hi-light:
Try ‘Shoes’, ‘Accessory’, ‘Grooming’, or just check his Recently VDOs
My opinion & recommendation:
If I wanna know what new or trendy in town, I always go check his channel. Also if you want to find a total solution to complete your new look or want to improve your style and personality, you will feel like at home here.
This is exactly like what they wrote in the tag line of the store, a “Gentlemen’s Quarters” where all the well dressed & stylish gentlemen love to hangout. When we think about where to find Classic Menswear products, The Decorum is always on top of the list. Both co-founders; Khun Guy & Khun Ball are also generous enough to create a YouTube channel to share knowledge to the community.
Focus on:
All you need to now about how-to dress in Classic Menswear Style i.e. Suit, Shoes , Neckties, Jackets, Accessories, etc., you can find it here from the basic to the advanced tips & ticks in style recommendation. Also interview sessions with gurus, celebrities, and world class tailors that you will definitely get inspired.
Playlists in hi-light:
Check ‘The Decorum’s Favorite Items’ or just go for the Recently VDOs
My opinion & recommendation:
Like I mentioned above, The Decorum is more than a store. It is a place where all the classic menswear enthusiasts love to mingle. And please don’t feel intimidated by the look and atmosphere of the store ( I used to feel like that too), their staffs have good knowledge on the products and are very polite & friendly and always there to help you. The Decorum YouTube channel is also the same.

When I first discovered this channel, I felt really amazed on how much time & efforts that Khun Arm Korakot spent on his research of each episode. In each of every topic that he selected to share, I can surely say that it is a real ‘in-depth’ information which you don’t need to read all the various books by yourself BUT Khun Arm summarized and analyzed them and served in front of you (where else can you find something like this?). I also admired his personal style which is hard to find in others.
Focus on:
Start with the recommended books to create Personal Style, you can feel how academic based on this channel BUT all of his episodes are very interesting. They go beyond the look of what we dress but they touch into the ‘Mindset’ level; the way of thinking behind the decision that we select what to wear everyday. There are many episode that relate to the fashion history, culture, and iconic people which you cannot find in other channels.
You can always find a brief history of the brands or products in many YouTube channels BUT in ‘Americano Taste’, Khun Arm always goes deeper and takes extra miles. For anyone who is interested in the real meaning of ‘Classic Menswear’ and seeking for ‘Personal Style’, this is THE MUST channel that you should not miss.

Last but definitely not least, I give an ‘Avant-garde’ award to this channel. Khun Pae & Khun Mac; the co-founder of this channel, are very talented young gentlemen full with passion on the Classic Menswear Style. Because of this Channel, I decided to commissioned my 1st bespoke suite at the Primary Haus (more about this tailor in near future). They introduced the new way of educating about Classic Menswear which make me feel less intimidated with their easy going & down-to-earth character.
Focus on:
Covering from the basic of all items related to the Classic Menswear to the total Vintage & Rugged style(if you prefer) with the all technical terms which are very useful. Khun Pae & Khun Mac also take us to know where to find and how to choose the latest products up until the well-selected second hand stores (both brick & mortar store & in social media). They covered from renowned world class to the famous local Thai tailors.
Playlists in hi-light:
Must try ‘Suit & Jacket’, ‘Classic Wear How-to’, Fitting Room’, ‘Classic Menswear Second Hand stores Series’
My opinion & recommendation:
With their sense of humor, you will never get bored watching this channel and yet get to know more about Classic Menswear and definitely get tons of inspiration. Learning about Classic Menswear has never been easier with Signore Closet.
My Final Thought
Today there are more YouTube channels about Classic Menswear Style which I cannot mention them all here. But they are equally interesting and worth visiting which I highly recommend. Lastly, please leave your comments or let me know what you guys think. Any opinion/recommendation are very welcome here.
